The NFS Risk Panel, a sub-group of the Technical Panel, consists of independent individuals with relevant expertise of risk management, who provide guidance on the level of risk buffers and risk management methods to be applied to ensure the permanence of emission reductions by NFS projects, following the NFS Risk Buffer Reserve Policy.
The Risk Panel is appointed by the Board to determine appropriate levels of credits to be held within the buffer reserve accounts of the NFS projects and to review the applicability of the 10% contribution based on the projects ability to demonstrate longevity, sustainability and ability to mitigate risks based on the annual reporting submitted as a requirement of the NFS. The Risk Panel assesses each project on an individual basis and sets appropriate buffer levels of credits accordingly.
