Resilience Constellation is supporting the expansion and further development of the Natural Forest Standard (NFS) – a streamlined jurisdictional REDD+ program. We aim to provide an efficient framework for JREDD projects using geospatial information about forests at risk as a basis for determining additionality and oversight monitoring at the program level.
Dr Richard Tipper – Program Director stated: we believe NFS can provide and effective building block between small scale projects and regional and national jurisdictional programs. The initial NFS project in the municipality of Borba, Amazonia has managed to reduce deforestation below levels seen in other municipalities within the state over the past ten years.
